Installation

If the Git server and Jira server are installed on the same server, only the path to the Git repository is needed.  The URL and the access credentials to the Git server will only be needed if it is located on another server.

warning
You must have the Jira System Administrators global permission to install add-ons.
FYI
If you have the previous version of the Git add-on and will upgrade to v2.5+, all existing repositories in the add-on configuration will have the Repository Browser feature turned off by default. For more information about this feature and how to enable it, see Repository Browser.

For upgrade installations it can be easily done via Universal Plugin Manager (Manage Add-ons).

There are two ways to do this:

  • Automatic upgrade installation via the Git add-on Upgrade button, or
  • Git add-on update installation via UPM
  • Manual upgrade installation via the UPM > add-on upload Upload Add-on.
  • Git add-on manual installation/update via UPM To manually update the Git add-on, the user must have the Jira System Administrators global permission.

Watch the video below on how to update your version of Git Integration for Jira add-on via UPM (Universal Plugin Manager).

The updating process is demonstrated in two chapters:

  1. Automatic updating via UPM (0:05)
  2. Manual updating via UPM (0:48)
